Today’s show is part three of a multipart deep dive into the power of the mind with guest Clare Loughrige, a certified enneagram instructor, pastor, and author. They discuss what Shemane calls the best personal development tool she has ever found -- the enneagram! In this episode Clare describes the three heart types, from number 2’s being the helpers and caregivers, 3’s being the producers and effective ones to 4’s that give us the artistry of God. If you haven’t taken the test yet to see what type you are go to www.wepss.com so that you can discern which type you are. If you haven’t listened to the first three episodes you may want to go back and start there. Clare gives us wonderful information and insight and you won’t want to miss any of it! Each episode builds on the first. Don’t miss the next few weeks with Shemane and Clare as they go deep into the mind and teach us the tools we need to listen more intently to who we are and why we’re here.    [00:30] Clare Loughrige gives us a basic recap of the enneagram triads  [01:52] Clare tells us about type 2 in the heart triad; the helper/caregiver. Twos show us God’s love. When they are not healthy it can be like an addiction to love. [07:05] Shemane and Clare discuss the need to be loved.  [11:00] Clare discusses the 2 types of attachment in the attachment theory; disordered attachment and secure attachment. [11:53] Clare speaks to us about type 3, the effective types. They produce things like  intimacy, they’re charming when they are healthy, but when they are unhealthy - in their false self- they will become whatever is needed in the moment, and they can lose themselves. [17:20] Clare explains type 4, they are the original types, they give us the artistry of God and beauty, they are looking for depth. When they are unhealthy they can get into manic depression and unable to see the bright side of life. [21:12] If you haven’t listened to the 3 previous episodes on the enneagram, please go back and listen to them so you get all of this great information.   FIND SHEMANE ON: Shemane Nugent Shemane on Facebook Shemane on Instagram Shemane on Twitter Shemane on Pinterest Shemane on Youtube CLARE’S BOOKS The Enneagram Personality Styles a Tool for Self Knowledge and Spiritual Transformation Motions of the Soul Spiritual Rhythms for the Enneagrams LINKS Clare & Scott Loughrige The Enneagram Institute Spiritual Rythms For The Enneagram Clare Loughrige Sacred Rhythms: Arranging Our Lives for Spiritual Transformation (Transforming Resources)

In this episode we discuss the 3 centers of intelligence that need to work in harmony, why you sometimes know right away that you don’t want to be someone's friend, that we all have body instincts we just need to utilize them and our bodies can feed off of what we pick up on other people. [13:45] Have you ever walked into a room and met someone that you knew you didn’t want to be friends with? This could be an implicit memory or an explicit memory. [17:05] Clare discusses how we all have body instincts but a lot of time we are not aware of them, our bodies react to what we are picking up from others and we should listen. [19:21] Clare asks people when she is giving the spiritual direction ”where are you holding your pain?” It's an important question because it could be why they are feeling unexplained pain in parts of their body. [23:30] You have to temper your responses to people depending on how you feel they will respond, knowing your communication style helps a lot. Check out her free online programs and intensive online workshops that will help you get fit fast, conquer your fears, emotional obstacles and overcome tragedies and setbacks at www.shemanenugent.rocks. Today’s show is about weight loss tricks that Shemane has used as a fitness instructor for 40 years. Whether it’s 5 pounds or 50 pounds it can be difficult to lose. Make YOU a priority and take baby steps.  Shemane says we all must be investigative sleuths and figure out what diet and exercise program works for us. There’s no one-size-fits-all plan that works for everyone.  Keep a journal to find out what foods make you feel better and those that make you feel heavy and lethargic. Same thing for exercise. We must change up our exercise routine once in awhile too. Listen in today as she gives us her tricks and tools to help us make better decisions when it comes to food and exercise Today’s Episode [01:53] Shout out to one of the show’s 5 star listeners! [17:30] She tells us that if she gets over her target weight by even a few pounds she starts eating salads or exercising more so that it doesn’t get out of control. [21:01] First you must see your doctor before starting any diet or exercise program. [21:25] Weigh yourself and take your measurements, be honest with yourself if you are not happy with what you see, try to change it. [22:13] Find what works for you and what you like because if you don’t like it you won’t do it. [22:30] Journal what you eat everyday and what exercises you like to do. Make a note about how the food you eat and the exercises you are doing makes you feel. [26:07] Her number one weight loss trick is you to do a food swap, make better and healthier choices. [14:59] Can the enneagram help you if your husband who is antagonistic doesn't do the enneagram also? Clare says yes! you can affect the atmosphere and make change. [16:55] In the heat of the moment if we can take a step back and see what is keeping us from our best self we can diffuse the situation, practice makes permanent. [18:55] A nine is a peacemaker, when they are healthy they are the best ambassadors for peace when they are unhealthy, they are not able to make a decision. [21:58] A one is instinctual, there is a right or wrong and good or bad way no gray area, they try to reform everyone like Martin Luther the great reformer, when they are unhealthy they are perfectionists.  [28:15] Have you ever had someone ask you where you want to go eat and you tell them I don’t care?
