Clare Loughrige is back today to discuss mold. If you’ve been listening to the podcast or following my story, you’ll know that my family and I were suffering from toxic mold exposure. We suffered terribly for years and have only recently started feeling like we’re on the mend. I’ve been studying and learning and sharing my knowledge about mold now that I know the tragic consequences it can have on the human body. I’m also producing a documentary to shed more light on this topic. The focus of today’s discussion though, is how mold is discussed in the Bible.    In Leviticus there are passages sharing how to recognize mold and what to do with items that are infected with mold. Clare shares her take on other aspects of Leviticus as well and why we have to keep in mind that the Bible was written to civilize us. When you look at certain topics through a different lens, such as women being removed from camp while going through their cycle, the impact changes. Listen in as she shares why this was a Biblical woman’s girl’s trip!   Clare believes that we are currently living out the “next” chapter of Acts. The book of Acts was written to share the miracles of human interaction after the death of Jesus. Those miracles still occur every single day. Acts didn’t end, we’re still writing it.   I love having Clare on the show to share her insights on all things spiritual. You won’t want to miss her advice and thoughts on how my Enneagram score and my drive to share more knowledge about mold are directly correlated with the teachings in the Bible. Listen in and be enlightened.   [00:28] Back on the show is Clare Loughrige to discuss mold. [02:05] Clare comments on Shemane’s Enneagram number and her desire to inform others about the dangers of mold. [03:50] What does the Bible say about mold? [04:12] Why Leviticus is still relevant today, despite the jaw dropping sentiments in the chapter. [05:40] A new interpretation of the stories of Leviticus. [07:44] How the Enneagram means understanding yourself and being prepared to live out God’s purpose in your life. [08:27] Don’t use bleach on mold. Learn why. [10:35] What else does the Bible tell us about mold? [14:40] Mold is a slow killer - learn what mold exposure can cause. [16:51] Let your wounds become sacred wounds and bring healing to others.   FIND SHEMANE ON: Shemane Nugent Shemane on Facebook Shemane on Instagram Shemane on Twitter Shemane on Pinterest Shemane on Youtube   LINKS: Clare’s Books Clare’s Website ©iEnneagram Motions of the Soul Training Clare’s Podcast: Enneagram & Christianity Clare on FacebookClare on InstagramClare on Twitter CCM Online Enneagram Rhapsody

Hunting, trapping, fishing, and conservation are a huge part of our lives. Ted has been an avid hunter since he was a young child and he shares why he’s always been drawn to the sport and lifestyle of hunting. Listen in as we share some of our adventures and some of our scariest moments while hunting and why you should always be prepared. Ted starts our conversation off with a vibrant description of the U.S. post-World War II. It was in this era that he was born and it was during a time that hunting, fishing, and trapping were still the primary way many providers fed their families. He watched as his father and uncles went on hunting trips and knew that he belonged there as well. He’s always been drawn to hunting. His favorite form of hunting is bow hunting. There’s something unbelievably spiritual in the power and responsibility that comes from learning how to properly wield a bow.  Listen in as Ted shares a vivid story about a time we almost lost him to the quicksand of a fen. He provides several lessons throughout the story of how to be prepared for every eventuality. The most important lesson of all however is that you shouldn’t track a deer, in the dark, in a bog, on your own! This has been a passion of ours for years. Learn why it is so important that hunting, trapping, fishing, and conservation be recognized and perpetuated in future generations. Want to know ho to get the healthiest grass-fed meat you can find? Pay attention until the very end. [00:38] Ted shares the reason behind why he started and continues to hunt. [03:22] Did he used to wish he could go on hunting trips with his dad when he was little?  [06:49] Hear Ted discuss his natural draw toward hunting. [09:10] Hunting helps keep a man humble, down-to-earth, and grounded. [11:37] How can someone learn about and begin hunting if they’ve never been exposed?  [18:41] Shemane shares why she’s so thankful that she’s found proficiency in archery. [19:38] Ted and Shemane chat about several of their favorite adventures while hunting, as well as a particularly scary situation. [30:13] If you’re looking for adventure, learn all the ways that you can get involved with nature and archery.   FIND SHEMANE ON: Shemane Nugent Shemane on Facebook Shemane on Instagram Shemane on Twitter Shemane on Pinterest Shemane on Youtube   LINKS: Ted Nugent Ted on FacebookTed on TwitterTed on YouTube Outdoor Channel The Ted Nugent DangerZone with Tim Wells Podcast Hunter Nation

Ted is not as young as he used to be. Young in spirit, young at heart, but young in body no more. He recently told a friend that he does everything today that he used to do in his 20s. Then he came in from a short duck hunting trip absolutely exhausted and realized he might be kidding himself. Ted has been hunting, fishing, trapping, and educating others on resource stewardship and conservation since he was a young man. He shares a story from when he was in his 20s and had a chance opportunity to shoot some really large ducks. He was driving down the road, dogs in the truck, and saw some ducks sitting on a pond.  He parks the truck, gets out and proceeds to shoot two big, 8-lb ducks. When he gets over to the pond, the ducks are floating out in the water. He motions for his dogs to go and get the ducks... and they sit there... staring at him. Rather than let the ducks go to waste, he strips down and starts swimming out to them. Now, the pond is freezing. It’s likely below 30 degrees outside at this point, but he manages to retrieve the ducks, gets everyone loaded up, and heads on his merry way. Fast-forward to today and he realizes, he is not willing to do all of the things that he did when he was in his 20s. Listen in as Ted describes his old bronco, how he does duck hunting these days, and why conservation and resource stewardship are so important to him.   [01:09] Hear Ted share a story about his love of duck hunting with his dogs. [04:44] Hunting then and now. What has changed?  [07:48] Ted relates a specific story from several years ago when he trudged into freezing water to retrieve his ducks (because his dogs refused.)  [14:08] He definitely does things differently now than he did in his 20s. [15:49] Want to hear more of Ted’s stories? Check out his podcast and Facebook page. Welcome back to the show Clare Loughrige to continue the discussion on criticism in today’s world. Clare is a pastor, spiritual leader, and teacher of the Enneagram. Her work has helped many find their way to Christ through a better understanding of themselves. Criticism is everywhere. Especially these days when barbs float around various social media outlets and then pop up year after year after year. At no time in our past has there been greater access to our personal lives and information for anyone to see. As a result, anybody who has even an inkling of an online presence may fall victim to the keyboard warriors shouting insults from behind a computer screen. Through her greater understanding of how she responds in tense situations, Clare has developed the S-T-O-P method for dealing with the hurtful words of others. See the triggers and open your presence. In other words, take a moment to determine why this person is saying hurtful things to you. Figure out why you’re reacting to those hurtful words. Then open yourself up to the presence of the Lord and let Him guide your actions. More often than not, the reason someone is slinging barbs your way is due to their own unhealed wounds. It is not your responsibility to take on those hurts, but you do need to stand up for yourself in the right way, without spreading additional hate.  Clare has so many amazing tips and tricks for dealing with the never-ending onslaught of criticism in today’s world. Listen as she digs deep into the history of Christianity and the Enneagram and why finding ways to better understand ourselves is tantamount to better understanding the Lord. If you’ve been dealing with any criticism in your life, then you won’t want to miss this episode.   [00:22] Welcome Clare Loughrige back to the show to discuss the Enneagram and criticism. [01:21] Listen as Clare shares how the Enneagram has helped her be less critical of others. [04:03] This topic hits close to home as she had to deal with a naysayer recently. [05:55] Clare chats about the divisiveness present in today’s world and the role of social media. [07:23] Learn how you can use S-T-O-P to combat criticism. [10:20] Practice makes permanent, so practice S-T-O-P regularly! [12:58] How do criticism and the Enneagram correlate?  [16:47] Hear more about the criticism floating around about the Enneagram and Christianity. [20:20] Why are we stuck on the Enneagram as good or bad if it’s helping people become better versions of themselves?  [23:33] Clare’s friends from all walks and beliefs have read and connect with her book and God. Finding the courage to pursue your passions and your dreams when you don’t feel supported in your endeavors is unbelievably difficult. Shemane chats with her husband Ted about his decades-long career and what drives him to continue to pursue excellence every day. Ted shares his opinions about today’s society, why bow hunting is tantamount to superstardom, and how to find your self-esteem, because having courage is up to you.  Ted is legitimately a rockstar. He has been writing, playing, and performing rock and roll music for over 50 years. He’s also an avid hunter and outdoorsman, and a loving husband and father. But how does he find the passion and energy to keep going? How did he keep working and driving when times were hard? Where did he find the courage to continue on when things weren’t going well? First, he never gave up! Even when times were hard. Listen to Shemane and Ted chat about his upbringing and why it was essential to how he lives his life to this day. Ever feel like you don’t have a choice on which path you should take each day? Ted has a completely different opinion to share with you about how the decisions you make every day impact your ability to dig deep and keep going.  Ted and Shemane also discuss passion. Every person has their own passion, but for many, the end goal is the only thing to be seen. For Ted, the end goal shouldn’t enter your mind. When you focus on the path or the process, you will find your goal, but you will also build and grow so that you are ready for the rewards your goal has in store.  His outspoken beliefs and opinions are unbelievably refreshing in an overly “PC” world. You won’t want to miss out on why your self-esteem is your responsibility. If you’ve been feeling a little less courageous lately, then take a moment to listen to this episode.   [00:22] Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to spend it with me! [01:01] Shout out to FMENRNSJDICHDBE for their 5-star review! [01:51] Shemane welcomes her husband Ted to the show. [02:48] Hear Ted discuss making choices and why he makes the choices he does. [06:14] What advice would Ted give a person who is struggling with having the courage to follow their dreams? [08:21] Ted chats about the changes in parenting over time and how to inspire people to reach their full potential. [12:49] What would Ted say to the person looking to follow their passion but is lacking the courage of conviction?  [13:32] Hear Ted share his view on fulfillment and passion. [17:23] Why your mountain top doesn’t have to reach the same height as the next person’s. [18:30] Ted relates a graphic representation of finding your own mountain top and how to find your own self-esteem. [22:09] Did Ted ever experience a time that he wanted to give up?  [23:26] Shemane relates a story about one of Rocco’s swim meets and today’s society of being politically correct rather than pursuing excellence. [27:24] Stay tuned for Ted’s story about being stuck in quicksand...   FIND SHEMANE ON: Shemane Nugent Shemane on Facebook Shemane on Instagram Shemane on Twitter Shemane on Pinterest Shemane on Youtube   LINKS: Ted Nugent Ted on FacebookTed on TwitterTed on YouTube Outdoor Channel The Ted Nugent DangerZone with Tim Wells Podcast

Learning and understanding the complexities of your Enneagram type will open up doors in your mind, body, and soul that you didn’t even know were closed. Shemane welcomes Clare Loughrige, pastor, spiritual director, author, and social activist to discuss Enneagram types, training, and how they correlate with her faith. Clare is heavily involved in the fight against human trafficking and shares ways to join in the fight without taking on too much negative energy.  To say that Clare is passionate about understanding and teaching the Enneagram would be an understatement. The changes she has seen in her life and her faith as a result of understanding how she connects with the world has made her an Enneagram believer. This is realized fully in her ability to hear and process the stories of her congregation while still taking care of her own mental health and staying faithful in God’s plan. Knowing how her body processes the emotions and experiences of others keeps her healthy, happy, and thriving in her faith. Because of the positive changes she’s seen in her own life, Clare has taken steps to become a certified trainer and teacher of the Enneagram. She helps others to live more fully in their faith and their purpose by reconnecting with their whole selves. If you’d like to know more about your own Enneagram type, check out Clare’s upcoming training, ©iEnneagram Motions of the Soul Training. Clare also shares how she came to be involved in the fight against human trafficking. She was impacted by the stories of the survivors of human trafficking that could be found within her own community and found that she had to get involved. She uses her knowledge of the Enneagram and her deep faith to reach out to and support those survivors in their healing after the horrors they’ve seen and felt. If you’d like to learn how you can get more involved in your own community, reach out to Clare! This was a truly fun and interesting conversation full of great tips and tricks for navigating the world of experience. You won’t want to miss Clare’s insights into how the Enneagram can impact your life as well as the tools she provides on how to listen to and take in the stories of others without holding onto the emotions those stories evoke. We are on part 5 of a multipart deep dive into the power of the mind with guest Clare Loughrige, a certified enneagram instructor, pastor, author, and a podcast host. Today we are finishing up our discussion on the enneagram and what we need to do to have a healthy mindset. Clare tells us about head types, IQ, EQ, and GQ and how they interpret the world through their mental faculties. She speaks about Neuroplasticity the ability to rewire our brains, the heart, gut, motion mantra for health in all numbers and why it is so essential to stay in harmony. She believes that the enneagram allows us to see ourselves through God's eyes. Today's episode is the conclusion of the 5 part series with Clare so if you have not seen the other podcasts, please go back and start there. She has given us so much excellent information on each type that to start here will not allow you to get a full understanding of the enneagram. [01:02] Clare Loughrige tells us about the head types, IQ, EQ, and GQ.  [01:13] IQ's are 5, 6, and 7; they interpret the world through their mental faculties. [02:07] The 5's are the types that show us God is wise when they are in their true selves. They need to have more research. They need to know what the numbers are before buying anything.   [05:20] The 6's are the loyal and faithful type. They want everyone to feel secure. [06:35] When they are healthy, they work with the team, when they are not healthy, they can be fearful with worse case scenarios in their heads. [08:17] The 7's show us the joy of God; they are adventurers, explorers, and they are interested in everything. [10:40] They are methodical planners when they are healthy, it can turn to gluttony, always wanting more, more knowledge, more of everything when they are not healthy. [12:07] EQ's are numbers 2, 3, and 4's they are the emotional intelligence - GQ's are numbers 8, 9, and 1's they are the gut intelligence. [13:00] You need all three centers of intelligence if you want to be centered. [15:56] Do you have self-doubt? How can you change it? [18:00] Neuroplasticity is when you can rewire your brain. [20:43] Clares' head, heart gut motion mantra for as a 3 is effective loyalty harmonizes is a tool that Clare uses when she feels that someone needs to get something done. [22:40] Listen as they discuss the book Spiritual Rhythms for the enneagram, which is a handbook for harmony and transformation. [23:35] If you have not taken the test yet and you are curious what your numbers are, go to www.wepss.com and take Dr. Wagner's test. [24:56] Clare gives the three words for each type that can be used as a tool to stay in harmony.  [27:05] What would your elevator pitch be? They discuss what Shemane calls the best personal development tool she has ever found -- the enneagram! If you haven’t taken the test yet to see what type you are go to www.wepss.com so that you can discern which type you are. If you haven’t listened to the first three episodes you may want to go back and start there. Clare gives us wonderful information and insight and you won’t want to miss any of it! Twos show us God’s love. When they are not healthy it can be like an addiction to love. [07:05] Shemane and Clare discuss the need to be loved.  [11:00] Clare discusses the 2 types of attachment in the attachment theory; disordered attachment and secure attachment. [11:53] Clare speaks to us about type 3, the effective types. They produce things like  intimacy, they’re charming when they are healthy, but when they are unhealthy - in their false self- they will become whatever is needed in the moment, and they can lose themselves. [17:20] Clare explains type 4, they are the original types, they give us the artistry of God and beauty, they are looking for depth. When they are unhealthy they can get into manic depression and unable to see the bright side of life. [21:01] First you must see your doctor before starting any diet or exercise program. [21:25] Weigh yourself and take your measurements, be honest with yourself if you are not happy with what you see, try to change it. [22:13] Find what works for you and what you like because if you don’t like it you won’t do it. [22:30] Journal what you eat everyday and what exercises you like to do. Make a note about how the food you eat and the exercises you are doing makes you feel. [26:07] Her number one weight loss trick is you to do a food swap, make better and healthier choices.
